I’ve worked with beautiful model Tawnee three times now and had a blast with each photoshoot. Her lovely naturally red curls steal the show, and this time she brought a stunning formal gown that proved once and for all redheads can indeed rock red clothes, case closed. The winter of 2012-13 was a pretty harsh one here in Boise, with freezing temperatures for weeks that meant no end to the snow and ice. But when life gives you snow, do snow photoshoots! Beautiful model Tawnee and I headed out to a scenic section of the Boise River in Eagle for a wintry portrait session last January, and even though we both came away soaked and freezing, I think it was worth it. Boise’s Capitol District is home to some of the best spots in town for portraits, and local model Brittany and I took a couple hours to shoot at a bunch of them, including the capitol building itself and Freak Alley. Kathryn Albertson Park may be the go-to spot in Boise for outdoor portraits, but Veterans Memorial Park holds its own in natural beauty. Young Boise model Cara and I shot these portraits in the park’s woods and the shore of Boise Lake Cascade – she had no problem getting waist-deep in the clear waters!
