A beautiful place, a beautiful couple, and a beautiful day – highlights from Yining and Andy’s June wedding at Mettler Family Vineyards in Lodi, California below!
Part of what makes this line of work so much fun is all the amazing and unexpected places to which it takes me! When college friend Sam asked me to photograph her wedding outside Sacramento last year, I was all in for a roadtrip adventure to take in the sights. Beautiful Hurst Ranch in Jamestown proved to be a magical setting for a magical day, with the weather even playing along for a perfect cloud cover during the outdoor ceremony and a stunning sunset by the time we were sneaking away for romantic posed photos. Take a look at highlights from Sam and Mike’s day after the break!
What is it about ghost towns we find so fascinating? I’m sure that could be a rich topic for a research piece somewhere, but I’ll stick with determining that whatever the draw, I’m certainly not immune to it. Calico Ghost Town outside Barstow, California, has a kitschy side to it but so many photo ops that I didn’t mind in the least. It may not be 100% authentic, but it’s so picturesque in a ghostly, abandoned Old West sort of way that it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. Check out some favorite shots from my visit in February 2014 below!
