Time for another round of portraits in classic black and white – high school seniors, actors, families, and more. If you missed the first installment, catch up on the black and white photos here.
Part of me is a little sad every time I convert a photo to black and white. All that lovely color, gone in an instance – it’s a hard decision. However, there’s a reason black and white portraits have endured so long, with their timeless elegance that color simply can’t match. And so without further ado, I present you with the start of a multi-part series of black and white portraiture. Some shots are new and some you may have seen before…but not like this.
Let’s take a break from the wild colors of HDR landscapes for some more traditional photography: black and white portraits. I took these head shots of some of Knock ‘Em Dead Dinner Theatre’s actors involved in a production of The Taming of the Shrew in 2011, and recently revisited the original portraits to see how I could re-edit them for a classic black and white look. Enjoy, and never fear, we’ll be back in HDR-world in no time.
