They may not have the jagged majesty of western peaks, but the northeast’s Adirondacks are still stunning. Check out this selection of landscape beauty from the hike to Snowy Mountain, located in the southern section of the area.
You could spend weeks exploring the lakes and peaks of Wyoming’s gorgeous Grand Teton National Park, but even if you only have a single summer afternoon like I did, it’s still a gorgeous spot. Take a look!

Don’t let the seemingly close distance fool you. Even though Silver City, Idaho, is a mere 72 miles southwest of Boise, the last 15 or so miles of the journey take place on a narrow dirt road winding through the mountains – getting to this tiny ghost town is quite the trek! The ramshackle buildings, eyebrow-raising signage, and lonesome feel make the place a unique destination worth the visit, however. Take a look!
