While faces are fascinating, there’s something to be said for still lifes. ย And when those still lifes involve contrasting textures, undulating fabric, bright colors, and an amusing juxtaposition of red, white, and blue flags, the results are just too much fun. ย Here are a few images from the just-for-kicks session I held a couple months ago:

My first thought when I glanced outside was that someone had applied a photoshop filter to the yard. ย After this afternoon’s rain, the sun had finally decided to sneak out for a ten-minute window, drenching the landscape with golden light, illuminating the dripping trees, and creating a perfect full rainbow. ย I’m just glad I had my camera on hand!
