Oregon’s spectacular Columbia River Gorge has a huge collection of waterfall-filled hikes, and Eagle Creek provides a beautiful tour of a bunch of them. Here’s a collection of some of my favorites! If you’re interested in hiking the trail yourself, read up on it here, and be sure to bring a tripod if you’re planning on taking photos – it’s pretty dim light in there!
Boise may technically be high desert, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have our share of watery beauty. The gorgeous Boise River and its many outlets run straight through the Treasure Valley, providing tons of opportunities for recreation, wildlife watching, and (of course) photography. Stanley Lake might be one of my absolute favorite lakes in the Sawtooth Wilderness – gorgeous any time of year, any time of day, any time of weather. Well, maybe a little scary when it’s storming, but still beautiful! Here’s a collection of my favorite photos over the years from this stunning lake.
I never did count whether there were actually a thousand of them, but the many waterfalls pouring out of seemingly nowhere into the Snake River Canyon outside Hagerman, Idaho, are pretty stunning regardless of the exact number. Take a look!
The winter months at the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013 have seen some of the most frigid temperatures and icy conditions in southern Idaho in a long while. With temperatures plummeting below 0F for a few nights and weeks of snowy roads around Boise, it’s been a challenge to take photos without frozen fingers! But I stuck it out a few times, thankfully – here’s a look at our Idaho winter around the Treasure Valley and Idaho City.
