Samantha!! ❤️❤️ I had the best time workin

Samantha!! ❤️❤️ I had the best time working with this beautiful girl Wednesday and hearing all about her many hobbies - cello, guitar, lifeguarding, and water polo?! Talk about a busy schedule! The leaves were looking picture-perfect at Julia Davis with not even a single other photoshoot in sight, and of course we had to amble over to the heart of downtown for the 2nd half of Samantha's session, since she spends so much of her time there as a Boise High student 😊 We even got some photos outside iconic Flying M and Samantha's mom grabbed her a coffee as both a prop and a handwarmer (it's getting a li'l cold out there, guys 🥶). What a fun session - here's a sneak peek!

The feels when it was just in the 70s over the wee

The feels when it was just in the 70s over the weekend but dropped 20 degrees for your session and the wind tries its best to destroy your cool hair every chance it gets 🤪 Poor Cason was battling some truly blustery conditions Tuesday but handled it all with grace and amazing smoldery modeling skills...and on the plus side, we actually had some sunshine and no rain, which is the most you can hope for this late in October! This guy has the coolest car and chill demeanor, and I so appreciated his go-with-the-flow attitude waiting out wind gusts...and his mom being a 10/10 lighting assistant and keeping my softbox from taking flight 😁 Here's a sneak peek from this chilly downtown shoot!

All kinds of animals end up in our photoshoots: I've worked with dogs, cats, horses, even a duck named James Pond a few years back 🦆 But three horses, two dogs, and a few cows? I think Trevor's session might take the cake for most animal-heavy senior shoot! While the cows didn't make it into this preview (they were feeling feisty and suspicious of the camera 😆), we got some amazing shots of Trevor on his family's farm out in Melba with an epic background of storms over the Owyhees - no composited skies here, just Idaho being Idaho 😎 Thanks Trevor for sharing your beautiful property with me and looking so cool leaning against silos, climbing hay bales, and trying to get your horses to pay attention and stop munching grass 😄 Here's a sneak peek!

Kennedy about 5 minutes of posing into her session: "This is FUN!!! 😁" And you could totally tell - this beautiful girl was giggling and grinning all over the place. The only time that smile faltered was when I asked her to try a serious face (which she absolutely rocked - look at that smolder 😎) and when a bunch of ladybugs on the walls of the Depot really wanted to be her friend 🐞 (Spoiler alert, the feeling was not mutual...poor Kennedy 😄) Thanks for an amazing shoot and all the giggles, Kennedy, here's a sneak peek! ❤️

Can we get a little bit country with family photos? 🤠 Of course! This beautiful location in Hidden Springs is one of my favorites for both a slightly western look AND some gorgeous fall color...and as a bonus, you might get to admire the bunnies and goats staring inquisitively over at us at the neighboring old farmstead 😄 These guys are the sweetest and had the cutest outfits, and even though the sun chose not to make much of an appearance, we still got some vibrant color and adorable shots - here's a sneak peek! 😊

The feels when it's your 5th session with a family

The feels when it's your 5th session with a family so they feel like old friends...but they're also totally on to most of your posing prompts and you can't surprise them with anything 😄 These guys are the sweetest and always keep me cracking up with their antics (okay but mostly Jordan 🙃), and it's been wonderful watching their journey over the years with Riley now in college and Jordan sprouting up a good half-foot between last year's session and now! Their BSU-themed wardrobe was perfect against all the gold of Cottonwood Creek and we even managed to avoid getting run over by bikers, which if you're at the Military Reserve this time of year, you know is an accomplishment in itself 😬 Here's a sneak peek from Thursday!

Who says you can only have gorgeous results on sunny days? ☁️🍂 The further we get into the fall, the greater the odds we have weather to contend with, but sometimes overcast skies bring even more vibrant fall colors - case in point, gorgeous Ellery's session here yesterday! It was a nailbiter down to the wire on whether we could beat the rain or needed to reschedule, but fortunately this girl and her mom were the sweetest about working around the forecast and made an earlier session work...meaning we only got blasted by wind for the last half-hour of her session and avoided the rain entirely 🙏 You can tell Ellery has a passion for fashion with all the perfect outfits she chose, and I loved the infectious joy she brought to her session - I was giggling right along with her the whole time ❤️ Here's a sneak peek!

Those colors are just glowing lately even on cloudy days 😍🍂 I was so happy Nicole picked one of my favorite underrated locations (and the most photogenic bridge in Boise, according to my 100% objective assessment 😁), because with that absolute carpet of bright red leaves, it just screams FALL on every level 🧡 This gorgeous girl was the giggliest and could barely keep a straight face through some of our serious poses, but she did great and was the best sport about having leaves thrown at her, embedding herself in a shrub, and navigating tippy rocks to catch the glow over the river at sunset 😊 Thanks for a wonderful shoot Nicole, here's a sneak peek from yesterday!

Glowy autumn light in the mountains 😍☀️⛰ It's a whole other world of golden aspens and bright red brush up above treeline (and also a solid 15 degrees colder, brr 🥶), and the gorgeous setting was perfect for these sweeties! I had the strongest sense of deja vu since we'd done our last photoshoot together in this exact same spot almost exactly a year ago...except for the fact that there's a new addition to the family for 2024 and the girls now have a baby brother to dote on ❤️ Here's a sneak peek from this Saturday session!

Don't mind me, I'll just be over here totally in love with family sessions at the Foothills Learning Center 😍🍁🥹 This little place has it all for the kiddos, from piles of leaves to throw to an amazing tree swing to a hidey hole with little toy mushrooms...and it doesn't hurt that it has the prettiest glowy golden light AND that it's pedestrian-only, meaning we're not looking over our shoulders making sure we won't get run over by bikes at every minute 👀 I always love sessions with these guys watching the kids grow over the years, and boy have they grown...the first time I met them was at Laura's maternity session, and look at little Kate all grown up now! 😆 Here's a sneak peek from Friday 😊

Twin sessions (part II of II)! ❤️ Olivia must have the strongest ankles of all time because she toughed out navigating some tippy rocks in her stylish wedges and barely wobbled even once...and managed to look graceful and gorgeous while doing so! It might be thanks to her softball background, which of course we had to include at the end with some shots up on the field at Capital High (which gave me a serious sense of deja vu since we also shot softball photos of her older sister Hannah there three years ago, and the girls look a LOT alike) 🥎 So happy the sun came out a little and we got some beautiful glowy fall vibes! Twin sessions (part I of II)! ❤️ Addison & Olivia have totally different styles and interests but both are gorgeous girls with amazing modeling skills...and impressive cold tolerance when it came to toughing out yesterday's blustery conditions, the first truly fall-like day of the season! We had a great time taking in the fall sights along the river at this hidden gem location in Garden City before zooming up the hill for a couple quick shots at Capital High 🍂 Addison had the prettiest flower crown that gave her a downright elvish look, and for this animal lover who volunteers at Zoo Boise in her spare time, it was perfect that we crossed paths with service-animal-in-training mini horse Moose - an adorable first for me on a photoshoot (swipe to the end to see him) 🐴 Here's Addison's sneak peek, with Olivia up next! 😊

Look at these boys in blue! 💙 There's nothing I love more on family sessions than seeing parents playing with their little ones and letting kiddos be kiddos - it gets THE best most natural giggles out of all ages (and minimizes meltdowns 🙃 ). Little Teddy was one of the most chipper and cheerful two-year-olds I've ever photographed, and of course it helped that dad Andrew was all about the piggyback rides, leaf-throwing, dueling with sticks, and letting his child give him a log hat. Excellent dadding, 10/10. Here's a sneak peek out of way, way too many favorites from yesterday! 😊

Because nothing says fall like 80 degrees, right? 😄 We're still in this weird shoulder season which I'm gonna call "autummer" where the leaves are saying it's October but the temperature disagrees, but at least the trees all around town (and NOT just at Kathryn Albertson 🙃) are going full gold and it is BEAUTIFUL!! I loved all of Kate's adorable outfits and the flowers she brought, and the radiant smile that came out when boyfriend Wyatt joined in for the second half of her session...gorgeous ❤️ Thanks for frolicking around the Foothills Learning Center with me, Kate, and taking on that bumpy AF drive up the road for some spectacular sunset goodness - here's a sneak peek! 😊

Should you bring your derpy pup to your senior session? 🐾 Of course!! Because how could you not smile with that sweet ball of fluff squishing up to you? Little Merlin was a slightly maniacal ball of anxiety, but I was so glad Noah and his family brought their pup along at least for a few shots 😊 Noah wasn't super-thrilled at the massive crowds at Kathryn Albertson Park Saturday (and tbh I can't say I blame him - having a bunch of onlookers when you're trying to relax isn't anyone's favorite thing 😆), but like I always say, if you're willing to walk just five minutes, the crowds totally thin out and you get most of the pretty trees to yourself 😁 Thanks for putting up with senior photos, Noah - just think, you'll never have to do it again 🙃 Here's a sneak peek!

Sometimes feeling relaxed for your senior session

Sometimes feeling relaxed for your senior session can seem like defying gravity, but once you get into the flow and realize it's not something bad after all, you find that you've been changed...for good 😁 Okay, that was mildly cringe and I apologize (kinda but also #sorrynotsorry), but when Andrew told me Wicked was his favorite of the books he brought along and he'd also seen it on Broadway, I had to go all in! Anyway, this guy wasn't feeling super-excited about senior photos at the start (like 75% of my senior boys! 🤷‍♀️), but a few shots in and he figured out it wasn't stressful...and maybe even a little fun 😊 Especially including books + viola + Zelda shield 🛡 Thanks for trusting the process and laughing at my dumb jokes, Andrew - here's your sneak peek!
